BETTER STANDARD LIVING DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE (BSLDI) is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization established on 28th November 2006. The organization was officially registered on 21st February 2020 with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) under registration number CAC/IT/NO. 144586. BSLDI currently operates three (3) branches located in Lagos, Delta State, and Malawi (Southern Africa).
The Malawi branch commenced operations on 7th February and was formally registered on 8th June 2020. BSLDI was born out of the founder’s deep passion for serving humanity. His desire to address the challenges facing society—particularly in Nigeria, a nation blessed with abundant natural resources and untapped youth potential—motivated him to create sustainable solutions. He observed that many young people are forced into unproductive and harmful activities due to a lack of support and opportunities, which contributes to negative perceptions of our country.
Driven by this vision, he established Better Standard Living Development Initiative (BSLDI) to transform lives, provide hope, and rewrite the narrative about our nation. His journey in humanitarian service began in 1998 when he served as the pioneering Secretary of the Nigerian Association of the Blind, Delta State Chapter. He later continued his involvement with the Ekiti State chapter of the same association.
Over the years, he has been affiliated with several organizations, such as the Renewed Hope of the Disabled People (REHFODIP). He also founded the Better Living Foundation of the Disabled (BELIFOD) during his time as an undergraduate student of Mass Communication at Adekunle Ajasin University.
While many of the organizations he worked with focused primarily on persons with disabilities, he recognized broader societal challenges that required urgent attention. Although existing programs attempted to address these issues, they did not fully satisfy his drive to ensure that all individuals—regardless of background—live happy, meaningful, and dignified lives.
This unrelenting passion is what led to the birth of Better Standard Living Development Initiative (BSLDI)—a platform where he, his team, and everyone who shares this vision can work together to make the world a better place for all.
To transform lives in order to enhance better living standards for the vulnerable, downtrodden, persons with disabilities, children and widows.
To enhance better living through the provision of good health, sound education, scholarship, clean water and enabling evironment, low and affordable housing schemes, agricultural development to boost food and raw materials for agro allied industries as well as making life comfortable for humanity
